How embedded BIOS features make engineering easier

Using COMs (Computer on Modules) unburdened the hardware design phase from having to deal with multiple chip level details.  The complete COM can be seen as a heavily integrated chip with all the necessary high level interfaces required by today’s embedded PC applications. The feature requirements of an embedded PC solution far exceed the features currently offered by a standard Desktop PC BIOS.  Given this fact, it is necessary to produce a BIOS that meets the embedded market’s needs.
