Graphical System Design – Expanding Real-Time Embedded System Design to More Engineers and Scientists

Graphical programming using LabVIEW has had a significant impact on test and measurement over the last 20 years and it is beginning to have an impact on embedded system design. Increasing complexity and the need to more easily handle the parallel and multithreaded architecture of modern embedded processors has highlighted the drawbacks of programming such systems with traditional text based languages. This presentation will examine some of these industry trends and how graphical system design and graphical programming is simplifying embedded system development, allowing a broader range of engineers to tackle embedded projects whilst, at the same time, bringing efficiency to process for the embedded expert.
